Porter was descending the second pitch of El Cracko Diablo, a popular but challenging climbing route, when the accident occurred. Park officials said the fall was reported shortly before 8 p.m., and despite immediate efforts, Porter was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders from Hulett EMS.
