The Hairy Man’s story emerged in the 1960s, reached its peak in the 1970s, and gradually faded away after the 1980s. Opinions in Vergas differ: some believe it’s just a legend, while others swear they’ve encountered an old hermit living deep in the woods, protective of his secluded domain.

One of the most spine-tingling tales comes from Ken Zitzow, who returned one night with his car sporting dents on the hood. He claimed the Hairy Man leaped in front of his vehicle, pounding it with fury.

  1. To me it’s no mystery. Of the 1000’s of accounts I’ve read, and from what I’ve witnessed personally, this so called “Mystery” sounds like a Bigfoot/ big hairy man/ Sasquatch. They most definitely exist!!

A few years back, while I was driving on a back country road near Remer, I saw 2 white ones near the tree line. I was surprised I saw them, elated actually, but NOT surprised they’re here in MN.
